Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

1/4 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3/4 c. baking cocoa
1/4 c. shortening
1 3/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Grease and flour 9 x 13-inch pan.
Cream butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla until fluffy; blend in eggs.
Combine cocoa, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in bowl; add alternately with milk to batter.
Blend well.
Pour into pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool and frost as desired.
