Cheese Puffs(Tiny, Savory Souffles) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    sliced bread (white or whole wheat)
    1/4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, separated
    cayenne pepper
    butter
Preparation
    With an inverted drinking glass, cut out 8 rounds of bread (each about 2 inches in diameter) and toast on one side.
    Cool, spread untoasted sides with butter.
    Combine cheese, baking powder, beaten egg yolk and sprinkling of cayenne pepper and blend thoroughly.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg white.
    Spread a thick layer of mix gently on buttered side of toasted rounds, place on a baking sheet.
    Broil until puffed-up and browned.
    Serve.
