Peppernuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. brown sugar
    2 c. butter
    1 c. sour cream
    4 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. black pepper
    1 c. chopped pecans
    8 1/2 to 9 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter; beat eggs and add to sugar mixture. Add cream.
    Sift together all dry ingredients.
    Add enough flour to make soft dough (not sticky).
    Mix well.
    Chill dough 4 hours. Roll dough into long rolls, about 1/2-inch diameter.
    Cut into tiny pieces and bake on cookie sheet at 350\u00b0 for about 8 minutes or until slightly brown.
    (Cutting is much easier if the long rolls of dough are frozen.)
