Cheddar Ham Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    2 c. cubed potatoes
    1/2 c. sliced carrots
    1/2 c. sliced celery
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 c. margarine
    1/4 c. plain flour
    2 c. milk
    2 c. shredded cheese
    1 1/2 c. cubed cooked ham
    1 (16 oz.) can whole kernel corn (I use frozen corn)
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, bring the water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, salt and pepper to a boil.
    Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
    Remove from heat.
    Do not drain.
