Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. molasses
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. cold water
Preparation
    Sift flour, cornmeal, soda and salt in large mixing bowl. Measure in cold water.
    Add molasses; mix thoroughly.
    Beat with wire whisk to get the flour lumps out.
    Pour into two greased 1-pound coffee cans.
    Set in kettle of water; steam for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
