Mother'S Skillet Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 sweet potatoes
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    vanilla
    cinnamon
    lemon juice
Preparation
    Peel and cut off ends of potatoes; slice lengthwise about 1/4 inch thick.
    Mix water, sugar and butter together in an electric skillet with temperature set at 300\u00b0 to 350\u00b0.
    When mixture starts to get caramelly, add sweet potatoes in layers.
    On each layer, sprinkle small amount of cinnamon,
    small amount of vanilla (put thumb over opening of bottle and shake out) and a very small amount of lemon juice (do same as with vanilla).
    Cover and cook until potatoes are fork-tender (about 20 minutes).
