German Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    new potatoes
    red onions
    1/4 gal. light salad oil
    2 c. vinegar (use champagne vinegar or white wine)
    2 eggs
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/8 c. sugar
    1 1/2 oz. fresh basil
Preparation
    Slice potatoes 3/16-inch thick.
    Place in large utility dish and cover with plastic wrap; microwave until done.
    Slice red onions in rings.
    Mix slowly the salad oil and vinegar in mixer, then add beaten eggs.
    Next comes the sugar, salt and pepper and finally the basil.
    Place onions on top of potatoes.
    Pour sauce over top.
