French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 Tbsp. butter
    dash of white pepper
    1 c. consomme
    2 c. hot water
    2 c. onions, sliced thin
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    6 slices dry toast, cut in 1-inch squares
Preparation
    Melt the butter in a saucepan.
    Add onions, salt and pepper; simmer slowly over low heat for 10 minutes or until onions are very brown and tender.
    Add Worcestershire sauce, consomme and water.
    Simmer for 1/2 hour.
    Add the toast and serve hot.
    Serves 6 to 8.
