Delicious Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. yellow corn meal
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. yellow corn meal
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 well beaten eggs
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over blended shortening and 1 cup cornmeal and stir briskly. Sift together 1 cup cornmeal, soda, salt and baking powder. Blend together buttermilk and eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients to milk and eggs mixture.
    Then add to first mixture and mix thoroughly. Have greased 13 x 9 pan piping hot and bake 25 to 30 minutes in 425\u00b0 to 450\u00b0 oven.
