Italian Pepper Twist - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 to 7 level c. enriched flour, spooned not scooped into cup
1 pkg. yeast
2 c. warm water
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. black pepper
1 lb. Italian sausage, browned and drained or 4 oz. chopped pepperoni
sausage drippings or oil
Preparation

Mix 2 cups of the flour and the yeast.
Stir together water, sugar, salt and pepper until sugar is dissolved.
Add sausage or pepperoni.
Gradually blend into flour-yeast mixture until well mixed, about 2 minutes on medium speed of electric mixer (or 300 strokes by hand).
Add 1 cup flour and beat 1 minute on medium speed (or 150 strokes by hand).
Stir in more flour to make a stiff dough.
