Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 or 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 beaten egg
1/4 c. melted shortening or oil
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients separately.
Combine milk and egg.
Stir in oil.
Add liquid to dry ingredients.
Stir only enough to mix. Pour into greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 400\u00b0 about 25 minutes.
Serve with butter or syrup.
