Lasagna - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 lb. sliced sausage, skin removed
    1/2 c. olive oil
    1 onion, chopped
    1 can (2 lb. 3 oz.) Italian tomatoes
    1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. oregano
    pinch of salt and pepper
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 lb. Ricotta cheese
    1 lb. Mozzarella cheese
    2/3 c. grated cheese
Preparation
    Brown beef and sausage lightly in oil with garlic and onion. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, water, basil, oregano, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and pepper.
    Bring to a boil and simmer, covered, 2 to 3 hours.
