Goulash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. lean stew beef
    4 c. sliced onions
    4 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    4 Tbsp. Hungarian paprika
    1 lb. wide egg noodles
    sour cream
Preparation
    Cut stew meat into 1-inch cubes and brown in a bit of oil in a 4-quart pot for 10 to 15 minutes.
    Add sliced onions, salt, pepper, paprika and water.
    Lower heat to simmer.
    Cover and let slowly cook until onions are all but dissolved, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Serve over hot egg noodles and top with sour cream.
