Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. green tomatoes, sliced
    2 gal. water
    3 pt. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. pickling spice
    3 c. lime
    5 lb. sugar
Preparation
    Soak tomatoes in lime water 24 hours; drain and wash carefully through 3 or 4 waters.
    Soak in ice water 4 hours. Drain well.
    Combine vinegar, spices and sugar.
    Heat and pour over tomatoes and let set for 3 or 4 hours.
    Add tomatoes and simmer for 35 minutes.
    Put in clean, hot jars and seal.
