Mock Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 1/4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Boil 2 minutes, then add 25 Ritz crackers (regular size and unbroken).
    Boil 2 more minutes.
    Add nutmeg or cinnamon or both, if desired.
    Put in unbaked pie shell; dot with butter.
    Put lattice top on pie.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
