Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. chopped pitted dates
    6 oz. dried pineapple
    10 oz. regular candied cherries
    1 (15 oz.) box raisins
    2 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    4 eggs
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0.
    Grease well 2 (4 1/2 x 8-inch) or 5 smaller baking pans with vegetable shortening.
    In large bowl mix fruit, nuts and orange juice.
    Let set while preparing rest of ingredients.
    Beat together eggs, sugar and vanilla.
    Mix flour, baking powder and stir into fruit mixture.
    Then stir in egg, sugar and vanilla mixture.
    Bake for 1 hour.
    If it browns too fast, cover with foil last 20 minutes.
    Smaller aluminum pans do not take as long.
    Test with toothpick.
