Cherokee Pie Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 lb. ground beef
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1/8 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 (1 lb.) can stewed tomatoes
    1 c. instant rice (uncooked)
    green olives
    sliced cheese
Preparation
    Saute onion in oil.
    Brown meat in sauteed onion.
    Add spices, soup, tomatoes and rice.
    Cook 3 minutes.
    Pour into 9 x 13-inch casserole pan.
    Cut cheese diagonally and place on top.
    Arrange sliced olives on top of cheese.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until cheese melts and bubbles, about 30 to 40 minutes.
    Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
