Seven Layer Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked long grain white rice
    1 c. canned whole kernel corn, drained
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/2 c. finely chopped onion
    1/2 c. finely chopped green pepper
    3/4 lb. ground chuck, browned and drained
    4 oz. water
    2 oz. water
    4 strips bacon
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Preheat oven to moderate (350\u00b0). Place above ingredients in a 2-quart baking dish with tight-fitting lid.
    Layer ingredients in this order: rice, corn, sprinkle of salt and pepper, 1 can tomato sauce, 4 ounces water, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, ground beef, sprinkle of salt and pepper again, second can of tomato sauce, 2 ounces water and cover with bacon strips, cut in half. Bake, covered, one hour.
    Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer, until bacon is crisp.
    Makes 6 servings.
