Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 lb. sugar (1 1/2 c.)
    3/4 lb. butter or 3 sticks margarine
    3 c. plain flour
    8 eggs
    1 lb. mixed fruit
    1/2 lb. cherries
    3/4 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 qt. pecans
    1 box white raisins
    1 grated coconut
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together.
    Beat egg yolks and add to butter.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Flour fruits and nuts with dry ingredients.
    Add remainder of flour to mixture.
    Beat egg whites; add to all ingredients.
    Add vanilla.
    Bake at 225\u00b0 for 4 hours.
