Molasses Crinkles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. molasses
    2 1/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    sugar for sprinkling
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar thoroughly.
    Beat in egg and molasses.
    Sift flour; measure and sift with salt, soda and spices.
    Add to creamed mixture; mix well.
    Cover; chill for 1 hour.
    Shape into balls the size of a walnut and place on greased cookie sheet.
    Dip the bottom of a drinking glass in water and then in sugar and press cookie balls flat.
    Bake in moderate oven (375\u00b0) about 10 minutes.
