Chicken Marengo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 chicken breasts or thighs (3 lb.)
    1/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. butter
    3 small onions, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1/2 c. water
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 can mushrooms
Preparation
    Coat chicken in flour.
    Melt butter in large skillet; place chicken skin side down and brown.
    Add onions, garlic, parsley, salt, basil, water and tomato sauce.
    Cover; simmer for 50 to 60 minutes, or until chicken is tender.
    Add mushrooms.
    If necessary, add more water to sauce.
