Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick oleo
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 pkg. frozen hash brown potatoes (1 lb. 10 oz.)
    1 qt. milk
    1 can cream of celery soup
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter until tender.
    Add potatoes; cook over low heat until tender.
    Add soup and simmer.
    Add cheese and cook until bubbly and melted.
    Season with salt and pepper.
    Serve with a sprinkling of bacon bits on top.
