Seasoned Black-Eyed Peas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. shelled fresh black-eyed peas
    2 c. water
    1 medium onion, chopped
    2 beef flavored bouillon cubes
    1/2 tsp. red pepper
    1 bay leaf
    pimiento strips (optional)
Preparation
    Combine first 6 ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat.
    Simmer 30 minutes or until tender.
    Add water, if necessary. Garnish with pimientos, if desired.
    Yields 8 servings.
