Danish Pickles(Green Tomato Spice Pickles) - cooking recipe

10 lb. medium green tomatoes
1 qt. vinegar
1 box whole cloves
8 c. sugar
Preparation

Peel tomatoes and boiling salted water until barely tender. Drain and stick 2 to 3 whole cloves into each, depending on size. Make a syrup of the vinegar and sugar by boiling together until thickened. Pour syrup over tomatoes and let stand overnight.
