Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 c. pecans
2 c. coconut
1 lb. mixed gumdrops (no licorice)
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.
Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
Fold in nuts, coconut and chopped gumdrops.
(If gumdrops are sticky, roll in about 4 tablespoons flour.)
Add vanilla.
Spoon into 2 well-greased 9 x 5 x 2-inch loaf pans.
Bake at 300\u00b0 about 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.
