Mixed Vegetables - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. vinegar
    1/2 gal. water
    2/3 c. salt
    1 Tbsp. mixed spices
    1 Tbsp. mustard
    1 Tbsp. alum
    1 Tbsp. or more saccharine
    medium hot peppers
    green peppers
    onions
    cucumbers
    carrots
    celery
    cauliflower
    green tomatoes
Preparation
    Bring ingredients to a boil.
    Cool.
    Pour over vegetables. Pack vegetables in jars.
    Makes 8 to 10 quarts.
