Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 stick butter or oleo
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs, separated
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. coconut
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream Crisco, oleo (or butter) and sugar; beat until smooth. Add egg yolks; beat.
    Combine flour and soda.
    Add alternately with buttermilk.
    Add coconut and nuts.
    Fold in beaten egg whites that have been beaten until stiff.
    Pour in 3 layer cake pans, greased and floured.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool.
