Kosher Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. vinegar
    3 qt. water
    1 c. salt
    1/8 tsp. alum
    1 garlic bud
    1 pod red hot pepper
    2 heads dill
    1 grape leaf on top
Preparation
    Put vinegar, water and salt in pot and bring to a rolling boil.
    Cold pack pickles and pour solution over them.
    Seal. Makes 6 or 7 jars.
