Christmas Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. oil
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. soda
1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
1 c. black walnuts
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cloves
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. diced raw apples
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. soda
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Combine last 5 ingredients and let come to a boil; boil 2 minutes.
Pour over cake as soon as you take it out of the oven. Let stay in pan until cool.
