Orange Slice Candy Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. oleo
    4 eggs
    4 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in buttermilk
    1 lb. dates, chopped
    1 lb. orange candy slices, chopped
    2 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
Preparation
    Cream sugar and oleo; add eggs one at a time.
    Add flour and buttermilk alternately until well mixed.
    Add dates, orange slices and nuts.
    Bake in Bundt or tube pan for 2 hours in 275\u00b0 oven. When done, remove from oven and punch holes in top of cake while still warm in pan and pour over the cake 1/2 cup orange juice and 1 cup brown sugar.
    Let cool; remove from pan.
    Can be wrapped in foil and frozen.
