Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    beans
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 c. sugar per lb. beans
    diced ham or bacon
    1/4 c. molasses
    diced onion
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight.
    Sprinkle the soda over beans.
    Boil for 10 minutes, skimming off foam.
    Drain 1/2 water off; cover with warm water.
    Add 3/4 cup sugar per pound of beans.
    Add diced ham or bacon, the molasses, diced onion, ginger, salt and pepper. Bake at 300\u00b0 for 8 hours, or use slow cooker.
