Braised Chicken With Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. broiler-fryer, cut up
    2 Tbsp. each: oil and margarine
    1 large onion, cut in 8 pieces
    3 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered
    1 tsp. each: salt and thyme
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 bay leaf
    1 c. chicken broth
    2 c. cut green beans
    1/4 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    In a large, heavy skillet, brown chicken in hot oil and margarine until golden brown.
    Add onion, potatoes, celery, salt, thyme, pepper, bay leaf and broth.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat, cover and simmer about 30 minutes or until chicken and potatoes are almost tender.
    Add cut green beans; cover and cook about 10 minutes or until chicken and vegetables are tender.
    Serves 4.
