Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening (butter is best)
    1 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. molasses
    1 egg
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. each cinnamon, cloves and ginger
Preparation
    Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheets.
    Flatten each cookie with a small glass dipped into sugar; place 2 inches apart. Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 12 minutes.
    Let cool a few minutes before removing.
    Makes 4 dozen.
