Doughnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. butter
    2 c. sugar
    1 pt. mashed potatoes
    5 c. flour
    5 tsp. baking powder
    3 eggs
    1 c. milk
    nutmeg or vanilla
Preparation
    Put butter and sugar into hot mashed potatoes; beat until dissolved.
    Sift baking powder and flour together.
    To the butter and sugar mixture, beat in 1 egg at a time, then add the milk and flavoring.
    Add flour slowly until dough is easy to handle.
    Cut with doughnut cutter.
    Fry in hot fat.
    Makes 5 dozen.
