French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large yellow onions, sliced
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1 (10.5 oz.) can beef broth
    1 soup can Moselle wine
    1 1/2 soup cans water
    1/4 tsp. powdered thyme
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. garlic salt
    4 to 6 oz. Mozzarella or Baby Swiss cheese, sliced
    1 loaf French bread
Preparation
    Cut 4 slices bread, approximately one-inch thick.
    Place in 200\u00b0 oven until crisp and dry (about an hour).
    Melt butter in large saucepan.
    Add onions and saute until soft, but not brown (takes about 20 minutes).
    Add beef broth, wine, water, thyme, salt and pepper.
    Simmer soup, covered, for one hour.
