St. Charles Banana Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    3 egg whites, beaten until stiff and set aside
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. mashed ripe bananas
    1 c. sour cream
    3 egg yolks
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add yolks and beat well . Add dry ingredients alternately with bananas and creamed mixture.
    Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    Beat well.
    Fold in stiff egg whites gently. Bake at 350\u00b0 in 2 (9-inch) pans which have been greased for 35 minutes.
