Jadra (Lentils And Rice) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Uncle Ben's rice
    1 c. lentils, clean and wash like beans
    1 large yellow onion, slice thin
    salt and pepper
    1/4 to 1/2 c. oil
Preparation
    In heavy
    pot
    fry onion in oil until golden brown or a little darker.
    Set
    aside.
    In
    another
    pot
    put lentils in enough water
    to
    cover.
    Bring
    to
    a
    boil and cook 20 to 30 minutes until almost done.
    When almost done, add onion, rest of oil,
    raw rice, salt and pepper.
    Put enough water like you are cooking rice
    plus the lentils, water to make 2 to 3 cups liquid.
    Check about
    25
    minutes later and add more liquids. The dish should be firm.
    Mix and serve.
