Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 gal. or 7 lb. cucumbers
    2 gal. cold water
    2 c. slack lime
    2 qt. vinegar
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    2 Tbsp. pickling spices
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Mix water and lime; add cucumbers.
    Stir often.
    Soak 24 hours. Wash well.
    Soak in clear water 3 hours.
    Drain well and add other ingredients.
    Let stand overnight.
    Heat and boil 35 minutes.
    Can and seal.
