New Orleans Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. mixed candied fruits
    1 lb. whole red candied cherries
    1 lb. pecan halves
    1/2 lb. whole green candied cherries
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine mixed fruits, red cherries, pecans and green cherries in large bowl.
    Sift sugar, flour, salt and baking powder together into bowl over fruit mixture, coating fruit well.
    Grease large loaf pan; line with double layers of waxed paper.
    Spoon batter into pan; press down firmly.
    Bake at 300\u00b0
    for 2 hours.
