Cooked Dressing For Fruit Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. vinegar
    6 egg yolks or 3 whole eggs
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. whipping cream
Preparation
    Combine sugar, mustard,
    salt
    and
    vinegar and heat to boiling.
    Pour over
    well beaten egg yolks, stirring constantly. Cook until\tthickened,
    beating
    with
    rotary egg beater. Add butter.
    Just
    before
    serving,
    add
    1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped, or thin cream or milk.
    Do not dilute vinegar.
    Makes 1 1/2 cups.
