Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium sweet potatoes
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. nutmeg
    1/2 stick butter
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    pinch of salt
    1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Peel and slice (thick slices) sweet potatoes.
    Sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg.
    Add butter.
    Add vanilla, salt and water.
    Put in an iron skillet and cover.
    Simmer over medium heat until liquid forms a syrup and potatoes are tender.
    Remove from heat and serve.
