Rice-Vegetable-Meat Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. raw white rice
    1/2 c. sliced onions
    1 c. sliced carrots
    2 c. sliced potatoes
    2 c. tomatoes
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Brown meat in butter. Crumble it as it cooks and season to taste. Place in a 2-quart casserole dish in layers, meat first, then sprinkle rice, onions, carrots, potatoes and last tomatoes. Season each layer lightly. Add enough tomato juice or water to show through. Cover and bake at 325\u00b0 for 2 hours.
