Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. self-rising flour
    2 c. mashed ripe bananas (about 4)
    1/2 c. sour cream or plain yogurt
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 eggs
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour only the bottoms and 1/2-inch up the sides of 2 (8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch) loaf pans.
    Cream sugar and shortening.
    Add eggs, sour cream or yogurt and bananas; mix until blended.
    Stir in flour just until moistened.
    Fold in nuts and pour batter into prepare pans.
    Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
    Cool 10 minutes in pan.
    Remove to rack to cool.
    Store tightly wrapped in refrigerator.
