Shortbread Toffee Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 stick butter
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 stick butter
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 (14 oz.) can condensed milk
    1/4 c. pecans, chopped
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    4 oz. German sweet chocolate, melted in 1 Tbsp. water
Preparation
    Cream 1/2 stick butter with four tablespoons sugar.
    Blend in flour.
    Spread onto greased 8-inch square pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Mix together the next four ingredients and cook, stirring until mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
    Add vanilla. Pour over shortbread.
    Cool.
    Spread melted chocolate over toffee. Cool.
    Cut into squares.
    Yield:
    About 12.
