German Apple Kuchen - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 medium apples (MacIntosh best)
    raisins and/or nuts (optional)
    3 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. oil
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp.cinnamon, mixed with 1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Cut apples in small pieces and mix with cinnamon and sugar mixture and raisins and/or nuts also, if desired.
    Let stand 1/2 hour or so.
    Mix eggs well in bowl.
    Add sugar; mix.
    Add other ingredients gradually; mix well. Grease pan well.
    Put half of batter in pan, then apples and cinnamon mixture on top.
    Put rest of batter on top of apples.
    Bake 50 to 55 mintues at 350\u00b0 in 9 x 13-inch pan.
