Short Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    3 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Cut in the shortening with a blender.
    Add milk and eggs.
    Beat after each addition.
    Combine the two mixtures.
    It will be sticky but put it out on a floured board as for pie crust.
    Then brush with melted butter.
    Roll as for jelly roll and cut into pieces 1 1/2-inches thick.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Serve hot with berries and cream.
    This can be made ahead and stored in refrigerator until time to bake for serving.
