My Golden Cubed Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 qt. pared, diced cukes (large or ripe)
    4 medium onions, chopped
    2 sweet red peppers or 1 jar pimentos, cut
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    6 c. sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    3 Tbsp. salt
    about 1 qt. vinegar
Preparation
    Pare and
    quarter
    cukes.
    Remove
    seeds. Cut in cubes. Chop onions and red
    peppers.
    Put
    in kettle with the rest of the ingredients.
    Pour vinegar over mixture and mix well.
    Mix turmeric, sugar, mustard seed, celery seed and salt and add to kettle.
    Mix
    well\tand
    cook
    slowly at simmering temperature until pieces are tender
    and can be pierced with fork.
    Put in jars and seal.
