Pea Soup Andersen'S - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 qt. water
2 c. green split peas
1 stalk celery, washed and chopped
1 large carrot, peeled and chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 tsp. ground dried thyme
1 bay leaf
dash of cayenne
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

In a large pot, combine all ingredients and boil hard for 20 minutes.
Reduce heat and simmer 45 minutes longer or until peas are tender.
Strain soup through a fine sieve and reheat.
Taste for seasoning.
Add salt and pepper as needed.
Serve hot with warm bread, if desired.
