Turkey Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground turkey
    3 medium onions, chopped
    1/2 tsp. instant minced garlic
    2 (15 oz. each) cans tomatoes
    1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can chicken broth
    1 medium green pepper, seeded and chopped
    1 medium red pepper, seeded and chopped
    1 medium yellow pepper, seeded and chopped
    2 (4 oz. each) cans diced green chilies, drained
    2 tart apples, chopped
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 1/2 tsp. curry powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. bottled hot pepper sauce
    2 (15 oz. each) cans kidney beans, drained
    1 c. slivered almonds
    shredded cheese (optional)
Preparation
    Cook turkey, onions and garlic in Dutch oven over medium flame; drain.
    Add remaining ingredients except kidney beans, almonds and cheese.
    Bring to a boil over high flame.
    Reduce flame to simmer, cover and cook 1 hour.
    Add kidney beans and almonds.
    Simmer an additional 30 minutes.
    Garnish with shredded cheese, if desired.
    Makes 8 to 10 servings.
