Enchilada Sauce With Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. minced onion
    1 to 4 tsp. chili powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. grated American cheese
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    2 c. tomato juice
    1 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Cook minced onion in shortening until beginning to brown.
    Add the chili powder and combine.
    Add tomato juice, salt and sugar; simmer for 20 minutes.
    Moisten flour with cold water to thicken. Add cheese and simmer until cheese is melted.
    Serve hot over fried corn meal mush.
